How We Spent Valentine's Day Weekend
Look what I got him for V-Day:
They're cashcards, by the way. All of them usable.
I made a reservation at the only place that wouldn't burn a hole in our pockets, and the only place where I didn't wince when I saw the menu (I'm a fussy eater). They only had a Friday the 13th slot, so I took it.
Eve of V-day also must celebrate, mah.
It's at this place called Absolute Haven, at Prinsep Street. It's a fine dining restaurant that's surprisingly cheap and good. They even absorb the 7% GST, so it's only a +10% when you dine there.
Go try it! It's good!
Anyway, back to the picture taking. We didn't take much pictures this year because with everyone around me getting pro-cameras, I didn't really feel like taking anything with my normal digicam.
Lazy doing subliminal advertising for Hoegaarden.
The Lazy, as usual, bought flowers for me. This one had a little bear in it that says "I love you" when squeezed. Cute.
The restaurant itself, after footing the bill, presented a little gift box in lieu of Valentine's Day.
It's sweeter than it looks here.
The next day, Valentine's Day itself, we went grocery shopping together. Why of all weird things to do, we went grocery shopping?
Because the Lazy......
.... wanted to cook for me.
Here's a (not-so) rare photo of Lazy cooking. And my goodness, he's a natural-born chef!
Chicken chop, pork chop and portobello mushrooms with gravy.
Note: Product is way more delicious than pictured.
Oh yeah, and we wore our shoesies to Suntec to do our grocery shopping.
That we bought since Christmas. Nice?
After dinner, we invited June to go to the Night Safari with us.
Again, with the picture of the signboard.
Here's the June who was feeling awkward because there were many couples walking around, some of which were even carrying flowers.
But what the hey. We like having him around.
Not much pictures taken that we haven't already taken of the animals.
The next day, which was a Sunday, we got something that I've been wanting for a couple of months.
We got the tank from Anthony, whose tarantula passed away, but it had no cover. And because we bought 4 of the escape artists, Lazy set about making a cover for them.
Ta-da~ Lazy's good with arts and crafts.
And while were were firmly installing them in place, my RESs went crazy because I shifted them one shelf down to make space for this new installation.
Need to upgrade their tank soon. Anyone has a slightly bigger tank to spare?
So........ guess what we bought?
We.. er.. bought.. rocks. Yeah, rocks.
We dropped by the aquarium shop on Monday night to pick up some upgrades for the tank and for our goldfishy.
I just did a bit of feng shui so that the.. er.... rocks.. have space to.. er.. swim.
Lazy not only upgraded the fishy tank, he added a new fish to keep the original one company.
And don't worry about the fishys nibbling on the plants. The plants are there for them to nibble, so that they have something to do.
This year's Valentine's Day is all stretched out in one looooong sweeeet weekend! Probably to make up for next year's Valentine's Day, where we won't get to see each other because of the Lunar New Year.
Still, sweet!
