A Friend In Need

Did you read the news a couple of days ago? It was Friday the 3rd to be exact. Both the New Paper and one of the chinese newspaper carried the story.

A friend of ours, as all ex-Aprillians and riders know, Jie Liang, is in hospital after being hit by a car.

Photobucket

He wasn't riding. He wasn't driving. Well, maybe he was driving a few minutes before the accident. Here's how it happened:

He was driving along the right lane on the PIE on Wednesday, when a car in front of him hit the back of a bus. He stopped in time, and got off to help the people who were involved in the accident. After making sure that no one was hurt, he tried to cross to the road shoulder to where the bus passengers were.

He didn't see the taxi coming. He was flung 20 metres away and became unconscious. He's had two head surgeries since, and 5 packets of blood. I just received news from a friend that both his fractured legs are irreparable. He hasn't woken up since.

We went to see him yesterday, and there wasn't much change in his condition. His head is still swollen, and he still needs help with breathing.

He'll get better, I'm sure, it's only a matter of time. It's just so horrible to have something like that happen when he tried to help.

Moral of the story? It's not to not try to help. It's to look both ways before crossing.

Ayup, I did not talk to his father. When I was there his father was occupied with a bunch of JL's female friends, didn't have the time to talk to us.

Would you be do kind as to tell us the real story as told by his father?

JL witness the accident n volunteered to be a witness.

went over to the driver side to take his contact card n walked back over to the passenger's side n that was he was hit by the taxi.

that was what it was told to the father by the driver at the accident scene.
